ICD MedVance Institute Graduates - Friday, June 24, 2011
Jerry's Blog/ICD: Down at the USW/Bridgestone/Firestone – LaVergne (TN) program, a cohort of six Steelworkers recently earned their associate’s degrees in Science in the Biomedical Technician and Information Technology Program at MedVance Institute. According to ICD Coordinator Marion White, the participants used their ICD funds and Trade Adjustment Assistance upon losing their jobs in the Passenger Tire Division of the LaVergne facility.
Five of the Steelworkers — Damon Collins, Gary Cresswell, Thomas Stewart, Anthony Griffin, and Alan Hodge – are pictured with Marion.
Not pictured is Steelworker Carlos Driver, who earned his degree in 2010 while still employed at the LaVergne plant. Two more participants, Roger Corke and John Murray, are on schedule to graduate from MedVance with their associate’s in Radiology in December.
