Taxes Sales: Reduces state sales tax on food; raises rate on other items. Reduces the state sales tax rate on food from 5.5 percent to .25 percent. Requires a sum to be earmarked and allocated from the general fund for counties and municipalities that are financially harmed by the reduction of this tax. Increases state sales tax rate on non-food goods and services from 7 percent to 7.5 percent.
